Kate Micucci, who played Raj's shy girlfriend Lucy on The Big Bang Theory, has shared that she was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent surgery to remove it. The 43-year-old actress and comedian posted a video on TikTok from her hospital bed, where she explained that she had never smoked a cigarette in her life and that the diagnosis was a surprise.

"This is not a TikTok, it’s a SickTok," she said. "I had lung cancer surgery yesterday. It’s really weird because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life so uh, you know, it was a surprise. But I guess it happens and so the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out — I’m all good."

She added that she would be recovering for a few weeks before returning to her normal activities. She also joked that she was on drugs and gave a thumbs up to the camera. She showed a clip of herself walking with an IV drip in the hospital corridor.
