Joe Budden, a former artist on Def Jam, has admitted that he didn’t handle himself well during his rift with JAY-Z after the latter took over as president of Def Jam 1. Budden appeared on The Pivot Podcast, hosted by former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder, where he expressed regret over his actions and wished he had handled things differently with his former label boss 1.

Budden explained that when JAY-Z became president of Def Jam, he was a young artist on Def Jam trying to work on his second album. At that time, many artists on Def Jam had an issue with JAY-Z being the president, as it was the first time that a rapper, their peer, was calling the shots and in charge of DMX’s release date and LL COOL J’s release date. Budden admitted that he and none of the other artists took it well, and he really didn’t take it well 1.
