Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has proposed to his girlfriend Catherine Harding, a singer who competed on The Voice UK in 2020 and is also the ex of Hollywood actor Jude Law.
The couple, who met in 2020 and have a three-year-old son together named Jax, celebrated their engagement with a romantic setting of roses, candles, and a violinist. Jorginho, 31, asked the question with a neon sign that read "Will you marry me?" and showed pictures of their love story under a heart-shaped flower arrangement.
The Brazilian-born footballer, who also plays for the Italy national team, dressed in a black suit for the occasion, while his fiancée, who has a daughter with Jude Law, dazzled in a red backless dress. Catherine shared a series of photos of the proposal on Instagram, writing: "My love," with an infinity symbol and a diamond ring emoji.
Jorginho - whose full name is Jorge Luiz Frello Filho Cavaliere OMRI - has two other children, Vitor and Alicia, with his former wife Natalia Leteri, whom he divorced in 2019 after eight years of marriage. Catherine dated Jude Law while he was filming in the Czech Republic - she was 23 and he was 41, at the time.
They had already split up when they announced her pregnancy.
Catherine opened up about her relationship with Jorginho in an interview with MailOnline in March 2020. She said: "I definitely write a lot of love songs, especially last year.
"I find I go through phases when I have inspiration and other times not but last year I entered into a new relationship and that definitely gave me loads of creativity and inspiration. My songs are usually based on love - boring! It inspires me so much, there's no other feeling like it."
Catherine announced the birth of her and Jorginho's son on Instagram. She wrote: "Welcome to the world baby boy. Months dreaming of you and now you've arrived and everything and more we could have wished for.
"How crazy life is and how wonderful. A new adventure with you to guide you as you find your way in this world, to fill our hearts with love and bring so much happiness."
The Irish-born singer appeared on The Voice UK in 2020 under the name Cat Cavelli. She was coached by Olly Murs and made it to the knockouts round but did not win.
Catherine sparked engagement rumours before when she was seen wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger in July 2021. However, the couple have also faced cheating allegations when fans spotted Jorginho on celebrity dating app Raya while he was in Miami with his teammates in January 2022.
