Jessica Klepser, the wife of Hollywood actor Christian Oliver, spoke out for the first time on Friday, a day after her late husband and their two daughters, Matida, 12 and Annik, 10 perished in a plane crash in the Caribbean.
The family of four had been enjoying a holiday in the Grenadines, where Christian Oliver, whose real name is Christian Klepser, 51, had taken his daughters on a father-daughter trip. They were on their way to St. Lucia when the doomed aircraft nosedived and crashed moments after taking off from J.F. Mitchell Airport on Thursday.
Jessica Klepser and her family issued an emotional statement on the Instagram page of Wundabar Pilates, where she works as the regional manager of the company’s California branch. The statement read:
“We are devastated by the tragic loss of our beloved Christian, Matida and Annik. They were our everything, our joy, our light, our love. They brought so much happiness and laughter to our lives and to everyone who knew them. We are heartbroken and will miss them forever.”
The statement also thanked the fans, friends and colleagues of Christian Oliver, who was best known for his roles in The Three Musketeers, Speed Racer and Valkyrie. The statement said:
“We are grateful for the outpouring of support and condolences from Christian’s fans, friends and colleagues. He was a talented and passionate actor, a loving and devoted husband, and a wonderful and caring father. He touched many lives with his kindness and generosity. We appreciate your respect for our privacy during this difficult time.”
The cause of the plane crash is still under investigation by the authorities. The pilot and the co-pilot of the six-seater Piper PA-32 also died in the accident. No other passengers were on board. The plane was operated by SVG Air, a local charter company. A spokesperson for SVG Air said:
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident and extend our deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims. We are cooperating fully with the authorities and will provide any assistance we can. The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority and we will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the crash.”
