Cannes, France — Singer Kelly Rowland made headlines at the Cannes Film Festival when she scolded a security guard for being too “aggressive.” The incident occurred during the premiere of the French film “Marcello Mio” on Tuesday.

Rowland, a former member of Destiny’s Child, was ascending the famed red steps when a female guard attempted to guide her. However, the gesture didn’t sit well with Rowland, who scowled and raised her left index finger in admonishment. An insider revealed to the Daily Mail that Rowland had reached her limit with the festival staff.

According to the source, the security personnel assigned to assist celebrities on the red carpet had been overly assertive. Rowland, known for advocating for herself, decided to set a clear boundary. She didn’t hesitate to express her displeasure, even if it meant coming across as a “diva.”

The incident highlights the challenges faced by stars during high-profile events like Cannes. Rowland’s refusal to tolerate aggressive behavior underscores her commitment to self-advocacy. Despite the controversy, the singer remains unapologetic, emphasizing that she isn’t fake.

Rowland’s representative has not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment. However, the incident serves as a reminder that even in glamorous settings, celebrities are not immune to clashes with security personnel.
